1974

Family owned Company, Pharma-Cos Ltd. is founded by Marcel C. Mifsud.
Became representatives of Leo Pharma, a leading dermatoligical innovator world wide.

1980 - 1985

Pharma-Cos Ltd. launch pacemakers for the first time in the Maltese market.
Achieves best sales per capita for Fucidin, by Leo Pharma.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. achieves best sales per capita ME region area for Sales of Fucidin Cream® produced by Leo Pharma.

1990 - 1995

Pharma-Cos Ltd. fosters Non-Ionic Contrast Media.
Installs operating tables at the main hospital, securing 100% market share till today.
Received the ‘International Distributors Recognition Award’ from Novametrix Medical Sys Inc.
Received ‘Certificate of Achievement’ award from Nihon Kohden (Europe) Ltd.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. once again were pioneers in the importation of heart valves.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. turnover surpassing the €2.5 million mark.

1996 - 2000

Pharma-Cos Ltd. moved to a 1000 square metre premises in an up market and centralised area.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. becomes Scholl representative.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. installs all the Central Sterilisation equipment in the only two 80 bed Private Hospitals.

2001 - 2005

Awarded with ‘Outstanding Sales Performance Award’ for sales of Scholl from SSL International plc.
Introduced and implemented the use of a ‘Spinal Trauma System’.
Receives the ‘Excellent Sales Performance in Spine Award’ from Mathys Medical Ltd.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. branches out into the retail market by opening its first Scholl Centre in Valletta and a year later, two more, in Sliema and Zabbar.
Supplied the MoH Syringe & Volumetric pumps for a total contract value of US$755,000.
A Podiatry business unit was set up to cater for the podiatry needs. This saw the investment in a full time podiatrist.
2004 saw the opening of an additional two Scholl Foothealth Centres one in Sliema and another in Valletta also offering Podiatry services, plus a ‘shop in shop’ concept in Gozo’s leading pharmacy.
A partnership between Fresenius Medical, St. James Hospital and us, gives birth to a 3 station renal dialysis unit.

2006 - 2010

In 2006, opened the 4th Scholl Foothealth Centre in the Southern part of the island also offering Podiatry services.
In preparation for the introduction of the Euro, we implemented a fully integrated software system to synchronize all our operations.
2007 brought with it our 5th Scholl Foothealth Centre in the central part of the Island.
Pharma-Cos Ltd. supplied various equipment that was successfully installed in the newly built state of the art ‘Mater Dei’ Hospital.
The opening of our 6th and largest Scholl Foothealth Centre in Sliema, comprising of a 75sqm retail area, turning the previous and much smaller shop into a “discount store”.
2010 saw us diversifying into the sports world, becoming the local representatives sports brand Lotto. This brought along with it a 200sqm retail outlet in Malta’s newly built shopping mall called The Point. 

2011 - 2014

March 2011, we have relocated the Scholl Centre in the Southern part of Malta to a “high street” shopping zone, and also increasing the size of the outlet threefold.
The turnover of Pharma-Cos Ltd. has surpassed the €6 million figure. An increase of 16.8% over 2010.
December 2011, we officially became the sole distributors for Beckton Dickinson for Hospital and Pharma range.
January 2012, Hitachi Medical Systems confirmed that our company is the exclusive distributor of ultrasound products for Hitachi brand.
October 2012, Covidien awarded Pharma-Cos Ltd. an award of Achievement in Years of Dedicated Service.
December 2014 Awarded a contract for the complete supply and installation of Hospital Sterilisation Equipment in Gozo General Hospital.
Appointed sole distributors for Beckton Dickinson for Hospital and Pharma range. Awarded Exclusive Distributor status for Hitachi ultrasound products.

2014 - 2016

May 2014, reallocated the Scholl Foothealth centre to the the Point Shopping complex, This increased the retail footprint from 75sqm to 150sqm.
April 2015 opened another Scholl Foothealth Centre at the Plaza Shopping Complex of 75sqm.
May 2015 we supplied the new Oncology wing with all the Infusion Pumps.
December 2015, sales turnover surpassed the € 7 million mark.
December 2015 awarded contract to supply Mater Dei Hospital with endoscopic washers.
